Gidgee

Our gidgee is sold unstabilized, as stabilization is not necessary. A great wood for knife-making, Australian gidgee is similar in colors and hardness to North American ironwood. Curly figuring is called "ringed gidgee." As with many naturally dense and woods, gidgee does have some tendency to develop micro-cracks before being mounted. Such cracks can be repaired by filling with resin or with a mixture of sawdust and water-thin CA glue.
